  • Music Lessons

In addition to our Whole Class Musicianship opportunities, we are delighted to be able to offer children in years 3 – 6 instrumental lessons at Swanbourne CE School. These take place during the school day and are a valuable addition to your child's education.

Lessons are offered in:

Clarinet and Saxophone - Mrs Julie Sharp – Grade 8 Clarinet, many years’ experience of playing and performing. Contact via 01908 503461 or email: julieasharp7@gmail.com

Piano, keyboard; Mrs Sarah Manners-Jones – ran a successful piano teaching practice in Hertfordshire for 12 years until moving to Buckinghamshire in 2011. Contact via 07977 421510 or email:  smannersjones@aol.com

We are also able to offer individual String, Brass and Guitar lesson which can be booked via the  Bucks Music Trust at https://www.bucksmusic.org/book-lessons-2/ The Music Trust will then be in contact with you directly.

Children receive 30 lessons spread evenly over the school year, each lesson is 20 minutes long and they are guaranteed a 1:1 lesson.

The cost is around £12 per lesson which is payable termly in advance. Half a term's notice is required in writing to cancel lessons.

Parents are required to provide their child with an instrument and a book – but these should not be purchased in advance – each teacher will offer advice on the right size of instrument and has their own preferences for books which they communicate to parents once they have met each pupil. It is of course vital that children practise at home for any improvement to be made, as a guide - 10-15 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

If your child would like to learn an instrument, please contact them directly.
