Spiritual Clubs

Prayer and Reflection Club

As part of our continued commitment to aid the development of the social, moral, spiritual and cultural development of our pupils, parents and members of the school community, we have a fortnightly prayer and reflection club.

The club is open to pupils, parents, siblings and other family members who would like to participate in a 20 minute prayer session to prepare them for the day ahead. The club takes place every other Thursday at 8.30am lasting for 20 minutes.

Mr May leads the club and provides an opportunity for individuals to take part in creative prayer or quiet reflection to consider and express their concerns, thoughts, and emotions in a safe environment. There is no expectation for people to share their prayers, but we are hoping that members of the club will be able to listen to, learn and experience a new prayer styles and 'breathing prayer' techniques to learn to breathe slowly and listen to our bodies, both of which can be used as part of daily routines.

Hopefully, the club will help us all feel relaxed, calm and prepared for the day ahead.

The club is completely free and for those who attend coffee, tea, juice and biscuits will be available before they go to lessons or work!

Galaxy After-School Club

After-school at Swanbourne on Tuesday afternoons, members of the 5 parishes benefice of Newton Longville, Mursley, Little Horwood, Swanbourne and Drayton Parslow come into school and work with children to build upon their existing knowledge and understanding both academically and spiritually. The club allows the children to explore the bible, prayer and the Christian faith through interactive presentations, games, stories, film clips, discussion, craft and drama.
