Orienteering Showdown: House vs House
Children at Swanbourne recently took part in the annual school orienteering competition. This was split into two events, with Year 5 & Year 6 competing together and Year 3 & Year 4 competing separately.
Whilst the course was similar to previous years, the code they were looking for was different. The children had to collect the letters from the markers in pairs before working as a team to unscramble the anagram. This definitely got some of them thinking.
It was great to see the children so engaged with a sport that they don’t often come into contact with, working together to solve the problem.
In the senior event Pankhurst were the first to collect all of the letters and unscramble to message. For them the message was ‘Mental & Physical’, which is what we emphasise all sports events should be.
In the junior event the winning house was Attenborough.
Overall the house that did best in their combined scores was PANKHURST! Well done to everyone who took part.
