Year 3 step back in time
Year 3 were delighted to have the opportunity to visit the Chiltern Outdoor Learning Museum as part of our History topic on The Stone Age through to the Iron Age.
We were so proud of the way the children embraced the experience, demonstrating their knowledge, asking fantastic questions and showing great imagination as they immersed themselves in stone age life and iron age life.
Here is what the children said about the day.
“In the Neolithic Age, we learnt to be a hunter-gather. We picked roots and hunted a wild boar and deer. I also got to make fire” - Toby
“In the Iron Age we learnt how to make pots, flour, flat breads and butter. It was really interesting. I enjoyed making the pots and making fire!” - Rowan
“First we sat down in the Iron Age House. It was dark because in the Iron Age people didn’t have any light only fire, it took us a while to get used to the light. We learned there was only one bed and that would be for the chief and everyone else would sleep on the floor” - Lois
