Drayton Parslow Village School - EYFS
Welcome to Foundation Stage! Our EYFS is a happy, secure and busy environment where children are enabled to develop independence and a love of learning using both of our lovely classrooms - inside and outside. Mrs Cadigan and Mrs Money plan activities based upon real experiences in order to stimulate and challenge each individual child.
Through the year we will cover exciting themes such as Ourselves, Food and Celebrations, Space, Caring for our environment, New Life and Journeys. We are often out and about in the school minibus to support our learning, enjoying visits to farms, supermarkets, the Fire Station, the library, College Lake and the ‘Pick your Own’, to name but a few! In addition, the children enjoy Forest School at Swanbourne woods and cooking delicious recipes every week.
We love to bring real experiences to our classroom with plenty of interesting visitors, eggs to hatch in our incubator, cooking and serving food in our ‘restaurant’ or selling our produce to parents at the end of the day.
Parslow Bear is a valued member of the class who likes to spend the weekend with each child in turn, recording his adventures in his special diary.
We like to involve parents as much as possible and plan plenty of opportunities for ‘Stay and Play’, workshops and class events. Parents are encouraged to come and read to the children at our weekly ‘Mystery Storyteller’ time and to celebrate their child’s successes in a special assembly.
