UKS2 Rock Climbing & Bouldering
Thu 12 Dec 2024Six of our Year 6 children recently had the opportunity to take part in a series of climbing activities, at Sir Henry Floyd School.
We were very lucky to have the chance to explore the bouldering wall that is installed in one of the sports halls at SHFS, the only one at any of the schools in the area.
Throughout the morning the children took part in a series of ‘free climbing’ activities, also known as ‘solo-climbing’. This means without any ropes. They had to listen to commands and react as quickly as they could; take up a position and then touch as many different holds as possible, without moving their feet; complete a timed team traversing relay and play a game of ‘capture the bib’. For most of the children this was a new experience, but one that they all embraced and thoroughly enjoyed. The morning was full of smiles and successes!

EYFS welcome visitors from Milton Keynes Synagogue
Thu 12 Dec 2024Mursley and Drayton Parslow EYFS classes spent a very interesting morning recently, welcoming visitors from the Milton Keynes Synagogue.
The children learned about the important parts of the Synagogue and some information about the Jewish faith. There was a chance to handle some artefacts and do some crafts. The children asked some fantastic questions and were beautifully polite and well behaved. We were very proud of them.

Sports competitions and experiences for children of The Three Schools
Thu 12 Dec 2024Recently eight of our Year 6 children went to Waddesdon Secondary School to take part in a Benchball event. Our energetic group took part in some skill development warm-ups before playing the other schools. They also had the opportunity to play a game with some of the sports leaders from Waddesdon, which was an excellent experience. As usual the children were polite, respectful and competitive in all that they did.
Our Year 2 pupils from Mursley and Drayton Parslow also had the opportunity to attend a multi-sports festival at St. Michael’s Secondary School in Aylesbury. They took part in a range of different activities, led by a group of students working towards their PE GCSE.
All of the children were a credit to themselves and The Three Schools, as they participated fully, demonstrating good levels of skill, teamwork and sporting behaviour.
