Busy Bees visit EYFS
Tue 18 Jul 2023On Tuesday 11th July, Drayton Parslow and Mursley EYFS classes were visited by the ladies from the North Bucks Beekeepers association.
After learning all about how bees help pollenate our plants, and how they communicate by doing a Waggle Dance the children had the opportunity to visit different stalls to find out more.
There was honey tasting, a chance to examine bees closely under magnifying glasses and to see the bees in their hive. Thank you to our visitors for bringing our learning about minibeasts and lifecycles to life.

Year 1 visit Claydon House
Tue 04 Jul 2023On Wednesday 28th June, Year 1 pupils from Drayton Parslow and Mursley went to Claydon House to learn more about the life of Florence Nightingale and the Crimean war.
We learnt about the dedication that Florence showed to wounded soldiers at the hospital in Scutari who had bravely fought. We roleplayed soldiers and nurses at the hospital and also learnt more about what life was like as a British soldier fighting abroad.
Claydon House is where Florence's sister Parthenope lived with her husband and we were able to see her bedroom where she stayed and even a small lock of her hair! It was a fun-filled learning experience for all!
