Red Bull STEM X Visit Swanbourne
Wed 25 Jun 2025On Friday 20th June 2025, some Swanbourne pupils had the incredible opportunity to take part in an amazing workshop delivered by the STEMx Team at Oracle Red Bull Racing and MK College.
This wonderful opportunity was free of charge for our pupils, thanks to the Friends of the Three Schools. The Race Day Experience began with an introduction to F1 and the history of Red Bull Racing. Pupils then took part in a range of activities including;
• Pit Stop Challenge – Pupils completed a specially designed engineering activity that had been created by real life Red Bull Engineers. Seeing if they have the skills to join the team.
• STEM Racing – Pupils built and raced their own cars using the specially designed track. The top 3 champions were crowned on the STEMx podium at the end of the experience.
• Media – Pupils took part in an interview filming and studio experience, filming their classmates as they took part in a post-race interview and navigated the journalists’ questions.
• Gaming – Pupils trained like an F1 driver and tested their reaction times using the same technology as the race team. They also had access to F1 Drive, where they raced against their peers to set the fastest lap times.
• Design Challenge – Pupils submitted a design for Red Bull car livery or a special helmet for the team.
• A STEM Careers talk was also delivered to students so they could learn about all the career opportunities that are available.
Year 6 had a wonderful day working with Rosie and Sarah from the Red Bull STEM X team and discovered so much about careers in F1 and the Red Bull site based in Milton Keynes.

A day of adventure at Caldecotte Xperience
Wed 25 Jun 2025On Monday 16th June, Year 3 pupils headed out for a day of adventure at the Caldecotte Xperience. We had a great day climbing, rafting and kayaking.
There were new skills to learn, and fears to be overcome. The children had a super day and worked well as a team to support each other. Lots of fun was had in the kayaks: singing, playing the duck game and racing the other boats. We really enjoyed it when the speed boat came past and we rode the waves. We were very impressed with the “have a go attitude.”

Swanbourne have recycled royal visitors
Fri 13 Jun 2025Enormous thanks to Miss Jeffery and her band of helpers from across KS2 who have managed to create King Charles and Queen Camilla Scarecrows made completely from recycled materials.
The scarecrows are part of the Scarecrow Trail which features in the Swanbourne Art & Scarecrow Trail from 14th to 22nd June 2025. Wonderful work to all our contributing artists!

Year 3 get dancing!
Fri 13 Jun 2025On Tuesday 3rd June, we took 15 of our Year 3 children to Mandeville School in Aylesbury, for a morning of dance.
The session was led by the Year 10 students, as part of their Young Leaders Award and involved learning part of a routine, as well as playing some games. It was certainly challenging, as the song they had chosen had a very fast beat and there were a lot of moves to remember. The Year 10 students also showed us a dance routine that they have been working on in their lessons.
Two other primary schools were taking part and it was great to see support between the children. It was also lovely to see some cross-school collaboration, during some of the games.
Well done Year 3 and as they say on Strictly….."Keep dancing!" -
